Searching Canvas Guides

There are help guides for the following users: Canvas Administrators, Instructors, Students, Observers, Designers, and Canvas Newbies. Each one provides different lessons to help each user understand how Canvas works. The lessons are continually updated. The downloadable PDF manuals are updated every release. To learn more, you can also visit the Canvas Guides.

 

To access the guides from within Canvas:

From anywhere in Canvas click on "Help" in the upper right corner.

In the pop-up menu select "Search the Canvas guides".

This will bring you to the Canvas Guides website where you can use the Search box to enter your question. 
**Side note: To get here directly you can simply go to guides.instructure.com

If you do not have a specific question, you can peruse the Canvas Guides different manuals:

  1. Getting Started and Quickstart, which are written for beginners.

  2. Canvas Guides, which are sorted by roles, including Student, Observer, Designer, Instructure and Admin. The Video Guides, highlighted below, contain useful video tutorials made by Instructure. 

  3. Mobile Guides, which outline how to use the mobile apps.
