Disabling A Custom Grading Scheme For An Assignment
The last section discussed how to create and enable a grading scheme. This section discusses how to disable a custom grading scheme and restore the default grading scheme, as well as how to disable all grading schemes.
To restore the default grading scheme, navigate to an assignment and enter the 'View/Edit Grading Scheme' window. Then click 'manage grading schemes'.
Choose 'Add Grading Scheme."
Inspect the grading scheme that appears.
To keep this grading scheme readily accessible and remind yourself that it is the default, you can name the scheme 'Default Grading Scheme' (1). Then click 'Save' (2).
Return to the assignment, and complete steps to select another grading scheme. This time, select the default grading scheme created above. Confirm selection by clicking 'Use This Grading Standard'.
If you have forgotten how to do this, please reference the section of this documentation on Creating and Enabling a Custom Grading Scheme.
Confirm your selection by clicking 'Done'.
Save all course changes by clicking 'Update Assignment'.
To disable any and all grading schemes, simply choose any option other than 'Letter Grade' in the 'Display Grade As' drop down menu in the assignment view.
To check whether a grading scheme is turned off for an assignment, return to the grade book, and enter a score in the appropriate column.
Note: Numerical values are supported up to two decimal places.
If the grading scheme was turned off successfully, you'll no longer see letter grades displayed in the column.
Changes are reflected in the student view as well.
